Every Scrabble game comes with 100 letter tiles, each with its specific value. From the ultra valuable Z to the 0-point blank, these tiles are the secret to building words that will help you win your next game.
The two most valuable Scrabble tiles in the entire game are pretty rare. Every time you stick your hand in the bag to draw tiles, you have a 1/100 chance of pulling these. They’re each worth 10 points, so use them wisely:
Q - 1 tile
Z - 1 tile
Q and Z aren’t the only letters you should keep in mind. Here’s our helpful little list of every other valuable Scrabble tile you’ll want to watch for, from most to least valuable:
J - 1 tile
X - 1 tile
K - 1 tile
F - 2 tiles
H - 2 tiles
V - 2 tiles
W - 2 tiles
Y - 2 tiles
B - 2 tiles
C - 2 tiles
M - 2 tiles
P - 2 tiles
D - 4 tiles
G - 3 tiles
E - 12 tiles
A - 9 tiles
I - 9 tiles
O - 8 tiles
N - 6 tiles
R - 6 tiles
T - 6 tiles
L - 4 tiles
S - 4 tiles
U - 4 tiles
Blank - 2 tiles
When you know which Scrabble tiles are the most valuable, you can watch for those tiles as you play. For example, if you pull the Q, you know your opponent can’t have it (because there’s only one in the game). That gives you total control over when and where it’s played, so you can hold on to it until you can put it on a triple letter score.
It’s also smart to keep a list of two-letter Scrabble words handy so you can use the most valuable Scrabble tiles with just one other letter.
